About us

The Corner Surgery was established in 1993 by Dr Nora Moriarty, who was a family doctor in Churchtown for over 20 years.

We moved to our current, purpose-built premises in Marshside in 2006.

We remain a small practice of around 4500 patients, committed to providing high quality, friendly and personal primary care.

Mission statement

We aim to deliver equitable, patient driven, high quality and caring primary health care services, without prejudice, to the patients of our practice.

We will involve patients in making decisions about their healthcare, and will always take patients' opinions into account during their treatment and when developing services.

We encourage people to take responsibility for their own health and wellbeing, whilst treating those who become ill with care, compassion and skill.

We will treat all patients with dignity and respect, providing the same care irrespective of race, gender, religion, age or medical condition.

Our current team

We are a small and friendly surgery with two GP partners, supported by two regular sessional GPs, two advanced nurse practitioners (ANPs), two clinical pharmacists, a practice nurse, a healthcare assistant (HCA) and a GP assistant (GPA).

We have access to a larger healthcare team via Southport and Formby Primary Care Network (PCN), of which we are a member practice.

We are an accredited training practice for GP and foundation doctors in training, and we host student doctors under a partnership with the University of Liverpool.
