Flu Campaign 2026

 

All eligible patients will be invited to book their winter flu vaccines next week

Free flu vaccines are available for:-

·         Patients who are over 65 years of age (or will have turned 65 before 31st March 2027).

·         Patients aged 6 months to under 65 years in clinical risk groups. 

·         Pregnant women.

·         Those in long stay residential care homes

·         Carers in receipt of a carers allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person.

·         Household contacts of immunosuppressed individuals. 

All patients who are eligible will either receive a text message or a letter. If you think you may be eligible but have not received either a text or letter by 14th September 2026 please call the surgery for advice. 

We will be holding a bookable clinic at the surgery on:

Sunday 4th October2026 - between 9am and 4pm

Most Thursday afternoons throughout October

All eligible patients can book their appointments through either of the following methods:

1.    The easiest and quickest way to book your appointment is to book through Patient Access or the NHS App – Please ensure you pick the slot type called: ‘Flu Vaccination, visit our website to confirm your eligibility’

2.    Those patients who have consented to receive text messages from the surgery will be sent a text message which contains a link to the booking system. This will enable them to book directly into their chosen time slot.

  1. From Wednesday 2nd September 2026, to help with booking, we will have a designated mobile number for you to call to book your appointment.

The mobile number to call is: 07957 028928

To ensure we have the correct level of staff to answer the calls the mobile will only be switched on between 10:00am and 12:00pm each morning Monday to Friday. Please do not leave a message on the answer machine as we will not be able to retrieve it.

*Please do not call the normal reception number as we wish to leave this line clear for our patients who may need assistance.

If you do not want a flu vaccine this year, please advise the practice by either replying with DECLINE to the text message which you receive, calling the mobile number or pop in when you are next passing.

Children

All children aged 2 or 3 years on 31st August 2026 will also be sent an invitation for their free nasal spray. Dates for these clinics are:

·         17th September 2026 – PM appointments

·         22nd September 2026 – PM appointments
